Our Hall celebrated its 90th birthday on Saturday June 29th with a BBQ and live music. Many folk worked tirelessly behind the scenes to guarantee its success. During the evening Pat Campbell-Fraser formally thanked Madge Anderson for her sterling work over the years as Hall Secretary. Following a champagne toast Madge was presented with a beautiful piece of art glass, flowers and vouchers from the committee and friends. Following the BBQ there was live music and many thanks go to Stuart Anderson, Miwa Apthorp, Patrick Friell and Donald Knox.
The success of this evening made me realise what an asset the Hall is in the midst of our Community. There are already many activities taking place in our Hall but I for one wonder if we could think of ways that the Hall could be further utilised. One idea is to ask the mobile Library to come to the Hall on its route and have the Hall open for tea and coffee. If you have any ideas please let me know (01450 880256 or daksak@btinternet.com) or there will be a suggestions box at the Roberton Show.
